It is hard to believe that the very first PC word processing program,
the "Electric Pencil", was written as recently as 1976.
This was followed by others such as Apple Write, Samna, Scripsit,
Wordstar, WordPerfect and Microsoft Word.
Today Word is the "world standard" word processor with
an estimated market share estimated at over 90%.
While Word can be used to write simple documents (in much the same
way as a typewriter) it is capable of so much more. After a Smart
Method course you'll be able to use Word to:
- Write manuals running to hundreds of pages with a comprehensive
index and table of contents.
- Author newsletters previously only possible on high-end desk
top publishing programs.
- Mail-merge marketing letters to client databases containing
thousands of addresses.
- Use styles to produce professional, highly-polished and consistently
formatted business correspondence.
- Maintain document template libraries to drastically increase
personal productivity.
- Incorporate photographs, diagrams, tables and OLE objects such
as Excel charts and Visio diagrams into your Word documents.
The core course assumes no previous Word experience at all. We
can make you a competent user of Word in just one intensive day's
tuition (something that could take you months of time and endless
frustration to try to learn from books).
If you already know Word then take the Advanced course to take
Word truly to the max. There is much in the advanced course
that you could never learn from a book or "by
doing".
Check out the outlines and you'll understand why our Word courses
are so popular and effective.
